Offline-first architecture

Media is downloaded and stored locally on each device. The current content schedule continues playing during temporary connectivity loss — no blank screen, no loading spinner.

Screen health reporting

Each device reports its status, last-seen time, and health metrics to the control panel. Administrators can view which screens are online or offline without visiting the location.

Content error isolation

A failed media item does not have to block the complete playlist. Devices can continue with remaining available content while reporting the error for investigation.

Centralised device management

Screen orientation, fit mode, rotation, and other operating parameters are managed from the administration panel. Screens do not require on-site reconfiguration for setting changes.

Every location is different. The deployment process begins with an assessment before any configuration is set.

Verify whether existing screens support direct Android installation or require an external certified player. Devices are tested before full deployment.

Platform configuration

Content and schedule setup

Upload initial content — notices, announcements or commercial media — and configure the first working schedule.

Go-live and monitoring

Switch screens to live playback, verify device status in the monitoring panel, and confirm content is displaying correctly on each screen.

The software may work directly on compatible Android screens. Where existing screens are not Android-based, a certified external Android player will be needed. Device compatibility is confirmed during Step 2 before configuration begins.

What is JYOTVIRA Grid?
JYOTVIRA Grid is a cloud-based Digital Display Management System (DDMS) that enables organisations to manage multiple Android-powered screens from a single administration panel. It handles content scheduling, playlist management, emergency announcements, offline-first playback and remote device monitoring.
Is it the same product previously called DDMS?
Yes. JYOTVIRA Grid is the public product name for what was previously referred to internally and in development documentation as DDMS (Digital Display Management System). The underlying system, APIs and Android player application are the same. DDMS remains the technical category and is used for search and legacy reference.
Can it work directly on an Android screen?
Yes, in many cases. The JYOTVIRA Grid Android player application can be installed directly on commercial Android displays and compatible Android TVs. Whether a specific screen supports direct installation depends on its Android version, OEM firmware, and boot behaviour. This is confirmed during the device compatibility check before deployment.
Does every screen require an Android box?
No. If a screen already runs Android and supports the necessary capabilities, no additional hardware is needed. An external Android player is only required for screens that do not run Android natively or that cannot meet the hardware requirements.
What happens when the internet is unavailable?
Each device downloads and stores its assigned content locally. When connectivity is interrupted, the device continues playing its downloaded playlist. Once the connection is restored, the device synchronises with the platform and picks up any schedule changes.
Can it play portrait and landscape content?
Yes. Orientation is configured per device. A network can include both portrait-mounted and landscape-mounted screens simultaneously, each receiving appropriately formatted content.
Does it support videos and images?
Yes. Playlists can contain both images and video files. Each item has its own display duration. Format and codec support depends on the hardware. The system does not perform server-side transcoding.
Can different screens show different content?
Yes. Each screen receives its own content assignment. You can schedule the same content to multiple screens or assign different content, schedules and settings to individual screens or screen groups.
Can advertisements be scheduled?
Yes. The platform supports both operational notices and commercial advertisement scheduling. The optional local advertisement management module enables time-slotted campaigns per screen.
Can the system monitor screen health?
Yes. Connected devices regularly report their online status, last-seen time and health metrics. The administration panel shows per-device status. Devices that have not synced recently are shown as offline.
Does it support 4K?
Whether a screen can display 4K content depends entirely on the display hardware and the connected player. The platform transmits media files to devices — actual playback resolution is determined by the device and screen. 4K support must be confirmed per device during the compatibility check.
Is installation and AMC available?
